Children helping Children’s National Day of Prayer 2013

more info – The Irish Society of Missionary Children, www.wmi.ie

The National Day of Prayer 2013 was celebrated on Friday 11th October.

All schools and parishes are invited to join in prayer on the day for all children around the world.

The National Day of Prayer for children was first launched in 2007 and school support has grown year on year.

The celebration, which is warmly supported by the Bishops of Ireland, teaches children the value of prayer during Mission Month with child friendly resources.

St. Evin’s School, Monasterevin

St. Evin’s School has a long tradition of fundraising for the Missions.

Every Friday a mission collection is held in each class and children are encouraged to make a donation to the mission fund to help those less fortunate in poorer parts of the world.

This initiative supports the objectives of the SPHE Curriculum and the Religious Programme in our school. All the mission donations are directed specifically towards children in need.

Our school is affiliated to The Irish Society of Missionary Children, www.wmi.ie

We also make donations directly to people we know personally who are working in Missions in various parts of the world.
