Don Bosco is Alive Today – Part Two

by | Jan 24, 2016 | Youth

Jane Mellett, coordinator for SAVIO Volunteers, shares her experience as a volunteer and how Don Bosco and the Salesians changed her life.

Prayer to Don Bosco:
Saint John Bosco, Friend of the young,
Teacher in the ways of God,
Your dedication to empowering the needy inspires us still.
Help me to work for a better world,
where the young are given the chance to flourish,
where the poor’s dream for justice can come true,
and where God’s compassion is shown to be real.
Intercede for me as I bring my needs to you and to
Our heavenly Mother, the Help of Christians.
St John Bosco, Pray for us!

SAVIO

SAVIO is the volunteering organisation of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Ireland. It provides opportunities for adults to participate in the Salesian mission of ‘Educating the Young’ by sharing their talents with the young and the poor in Salesian communities world-wide. Savio also provides opportunities for adults to ‘learn through action’ on justice and peace issues and offers a development education training programme to facilitate volunteers before they travel.
