Marriage and Family Conference 2014 – Drama 1

This drama was the first in a set of four short dramas performed at the 2014 Conference organised by the Council for Marriage and the Family of the Irish Episcopal Conference.

The 2014 Conference was held in Holy Cross Diocesan Centre, Dublin on 14th June under the title – Marriage and Family at the Heart of the Parish.

Drama One – In this role-play a Transition Year Student called James Murphy, son of Kevin and Maureen Murphy, is called to the school office. His teachers have raised some concerns regarding this bright pupil. Mr Brown, the school principal of St. Aidan’s College, a Catholic School, has called James to his office for a chat. The conversation results in calling his parents to the school office.

Time-poverty and materialism can get in the way of family but there is the will to do something constructive about it.
