Why is climate change a human rights and anti-poverty issue?

People in the developing world are facing the worst consequences of climate change and are struggling to survive in the face of extreme weather events including extended periods of drought, and intensification of storms and floods.

A major consequence of this is the failure of crops. Families can no longer plan around harvests and the hungry season in many countries is extending.

We cannot continue to tackle poverty in the world without addressing the issue of climate change. We need to support the most vulnerable to adapt to the impact of climate change.
