Bishop Leo O’Reilly – Christmas Message 2013

by | Dec 20, 2013 | Evangelisation, ZZ_All

In his Christmas message, Bishop Leo O’Reilly, Bishop pf Kilmore, says that he is happy to have the opportunity to greet everyone at Christmas, a time for Miracle and Mystery. “The Miracle”, he says, “is that God has entered our life as one of us, sharing our joys and sorrows.”

Bishop Leo encourages us not to allow encouragements to excess and overindulgence distract us from the true meaning of Christmas, which is a time for rejoicing in God’s gift of love to a darkened world 2000 years ago.

The sad reality remains that our world continues to be darkened by poverty and want. Bishop Leo draws our attention to those poor who live among us and to those people, worldwide, who must cope in devastating situations, such as those in Syria and The Philippines/8.

The bishop ends his greeting by wishing all in the diocese, and all belonging to the diocese, in other parts of the world a happy and peaceful Christmas.
