IEC2012 – St Agnes’s Community String Orchestra

 St Agnes’s Community String Orchestra

In 2006 St Agnes’ Primary School initiated a programme giving every child group free lessons on orchestral string instruments.

Today’s orchestra includes players from Crumlin primary and secondary schools and the “second chance” adult community orchestra. The intergenerational project gives everyone a chance to learn, play together and perform under the guidance of Sister Bernadette Sweeney RCS and Ms Joanna Crooks.

Discovering Music Together

This selection takes us on a journey from medieval times to the present, with moments of joy, celebration and devotion captured in music of great composers, our shared heritage in music.
