Nepal Jesuits: Devastated but not Defeated

The Jesuits have been working in Nepal since 1951 with the primary service being education: training young men and women for a just and peaceful society. The service is growing as Nepali Jesuits take over from the pioneers of the last century.

Jesuits and St Xavier College students sprang into action after the earthquake. They hiked to remote villages with supplies to collect data.

Moving from relief to rehabilitation after the Nepal Earthquake

The Nepal Jesuits’ Social Institute is setting up a national office to coordinate and follow up rehabilitation work. They have formulated a Four Phase Programme of plans taking Government data into account. Four Jesuits will be engaged for three months with conversational Hindi/Nepali and ability to direct rehabilitation work. Latest updates on our Facebook page

If you would like to contribute to the rehabilitation effort, your contribution would be gratefully received. Your prayers are also appreciated.
