Bishop Burrows on the 2013 Ploughing Championships
NATIONAL PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013
Ratheniska, Stradbally, Co. Laois 24th – 26th September 2013
Stand Number 326 – “TOGETHER IN CHRIST”
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin & The Church of Ireland Diocese of Cashel, Ferns and Ossory will jointly host a stand No: T 326 at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Co. Laois.
Bishops Michael Burrows and Denis Nulty have said they’re “looking forward to meeting people at the Championships and enjoying the special atmosphere of the few days”.
Personnel on the stand will meet and greet all visitors and provide a spiritual /pastoral presence during the three days of the Championships while also highlighting the work of both Dioceses.
Visitors are invited to gather with us each day at 12:00 noon and 3:00p.m. for five minutes of shared prayer. During this time we will include the prayer petitions, for special intentions or special requests, which can be written up and placed in the Sacred Space at the stand anytime during the three days.
Both bishops will be present at various times throughout the three days and both dioceses will have a clerical presence at the stand at all times during the event.
Other activities at Stand No 326 include the making of St Brigid’s Crosses, many activities for children and the distribution of “Together In Christ” wristbands, celebrating the theme of the initiative.
Do drop in to say hello when you are at the Championships – we will be delighted to greet you.
